Crew Scheduling: Who Goes Where, Sorted Before Monday
Most construction schedules live on a whiteboard in the shop and in the owner's head. That works until a job slips a week, a foreman calls in sick, and three people show up at the wrong site. JobSnap puts the schedule in the same app your crew already uses to punch in, so the plan and the hours sit side by side.
Three views of the same schedule
- Calendar. A month view of every scheduled job, coloured by crew. Unscheduled jobs wait in a side list — drag one onto a day to book it, then set its start date, end date, and crew.
- Whiteboard. One column per crew, with its foreman, its members, and its jobs. Unassigned people and jobs sit in their own column until you drag them where they belong — the shop whiteboard, minus the marker.
- Planner. A timeline with one row per employee, grouped by crew, showing which job each person is on, day by day. Stretch or move a bar to change the dates.
- Time off. Workers request days off in the app; a manager approves or denies with a note. Pending and approved leave shows on the planner, so you don't book someone who's away.
Built around crews, not single shifts
A crew in JobSnap has a name, a colour, a foreman, and its members. Assign the crew to a job and everyone on it is scheduled. A job can have more than one block of dates — rough-in this week, finishing in three — and each block can go to a different crew. Non-working days are shaded so a five-day job doesn't quietly land on a weekend.
What the crew sees
Owners, admins, and managers edit the schedule. Workers open the planner and see their own row: which job, which days. They also see their time-off requests and whether each one was approved. Nobody needs to call the office on Sunday night to ask where they're going.
The schedule and the timesheet in one place
Scheduled jobs are the same jobs your crew punches into. When a worker arrives on site, the geofence clocks them in to that job, and the hours land on the timesheet without anyone re-typing a job name. Planning and time tracking use one list of jobs, one list of people, and one app.
